Some of you may already have noticed that Spotflux 2.10.0 for Windows was released earlier today, our biggest and best client update yet. With a brand new UI, greater stability and absolutely no Java dependency.
We’ve been working our socks off for the past few months to completely overhaul the Spotflux Client for Windows, and we think you’re going to love it.
or read on to take a look at what’s new:
The first thing you’ll notice is the updated UI, with an all new look and feel. Our familiar color-coded Spotflux icon is still there, but we’ve got rid of all the irritating notification bubbles and messages. Spotflux will only appear when you need to check your stats, modify settings or pause your protection. The rest of the time it will sit quietly, protecting your privacy and security without you even noticing the app.
Did you know that Spotflux saves bandwidth for our Premium users? Now you can see how much bang you’re getting for your buck with our new statistics panel. We’re already working on adding more detail and giving you greater control over your statistics, so be on the lookout for updates!
Older versions of Spotflux could only be installed for one user at a time, and required Administrator access to run. With 2.10, you only need to install as an Administrator once, then any user account can enjoy Spotflux protection.
We’ve taken everything we learned in building our older clients and rolled it right into the new client, with a lot more besides. Spotflux 2.10 was designed from the ground up to be more stable, resilient to crashes and better at telling you what’s going on when you ask.
Having trouble? Hopefully it won’t come to it, but now you can submit a support ticket directly from the app, along with all the logs and information we need to help. No more complex diagnostic instructions or manual tests!
Bye Bye, Java
Great news! We’ve completely removed all the Java code from our Windows app, so you don’t have to worry about Java security updates, bloated Java environments taking up disk space, or locking down your browser to disable Java applets. Added bonus, without Java in the way, we have much greater access to Windows, so Spotflux is free to add more awesome new features as time goes on.
